About This Event
The Valla Island Clean-Up is a community-driven environmental restoration event organized by Project Ah'kan to address the growing problem of marine debris and plastic pollution threatening one of the Maldives' precious uninhabited islands. On August 16, 2025, volunteers will gather to remove accumulated waste from Valla's beaches and shallow waters, where years of irresponsible disposal and ocean currents have created an alarming accumulation of plastic bottles, food packaging, fishing gear, and other non-biodegradable waste.
